I push myself every day, even though it isn't easy having Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and fibromyalgia. Barreling through life's physical, emotional, and mental challenges and trying to remain positive is difficult. Our mindset can make or break us. Perhaps it's a bit easier for me, I've always been a fighter with a high pain tolerance and strong will. Certainly, it helps having understanding and support from others.

Music, humor, and having a creative mind helps as well. This business (Mythical Aromatics) is a personal journey, my way of being productive and genuinely trying to give back to the world. I miss traveling when I was younger, being around different cultures and learning from them. As frustrating as people make me sometimes, I care about the world and the people in it. We are all beautifully unique with different perceptions and mentalities, yet we are all the same. We bleed red, have wants and needs, and want to feel good, understood, appreciated, and accepted (flaws and all).

You can't teach being proud, you must earn your accomplishments.  I come from a generation where you put forth effort, time, hard work and you shall hopefully get rewarded. For me, helping others is rewarding enough. Realistically, Mythical Aromatics can’t compete with any large company, at this time, nor do we want to. Aaron has a full-time job and I have challenges, but I would rather pull my own weight by helping my family in any way I can. It’s my strong will, fighting spirit, and now a belief in our company that keeps me going. We acknowledge we aren't like anything out there. The products my husband and I make work for us, our family, and—yes—are natural, nutritious, practical, and are made with loving care. No agendas other than to help others with their skin needs and to feel good by relieving some stress. Money (although incredibly helpful) isn't everything, nor should it be.

I believe things happen for reasons, although we may not understand them. I also believe we are put on this earth to live amongst each other and learn from others—it’s what makes us better people in return.

Mythical Aromatics is for the world, and all are welcome! We encourage unity and an understanding amongst cultures. There are no judgements here because we aren’t your maker. We all are struggling through something. Life sure hasn't been easy or kind to me, but it certainly hasn't dictated and defined who I am.

Some helpful things to consider:

People tend to fear what they don’t know and understand. Challenge yourself to learn from others unlike you. Ultimately, be kind even though you may not understand. No one is any better or worse than anyone else. If you didn’t belong on this earth, you wouldn’t be here. So, try being mindful of others. Although you are important, it’s not all about you in this world. We are all going through this together.

We are all a work in progress. Never stop trying to work on your communication skills. It’s one of the hardest challenge’s we humans need to do in life.

There’s a lot in life that’s out of our control, but it should never be an excuse for bad or inappropriate behavior. We all make choices and must live with our decisions. At the end of the day, the only thing we have control over is ourselves.

Personal self-care in all ways (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually) is the best gift and justice you can give yourself.

Find yourself a healthy outlet(s) that works best for you. All the angers, frustrations, and things you can’t control need to go somewhere that doesn’t directly impact another living thing in a negative way. Music and any form of creative art is all therapeutic and what I consider a nice healthy outlet. No artist can make you do or feel anything you aren’t willing to accept in your mind. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own thoughts and actions in this world. Exercising is another great outlet and will never harm you, although you should know your bodies limitations.

All the best to you and yours. Be safe, smile, and always enjoy!

Remember you have a supportive ally in me if you need.
